What is JDFMusic?

JDFMusic is the name of this web site - JDF is James D. Foster (that's me), and Music is what this site is all about - praise and worship music that honors God and directs people to Jesus Christ.

So - who is James D. Foster? Currently, I am a Project Engineer for Cooper Power Systems, where I work in the Marketing Systems Development Group. In December of 2006, I married a wonderful lady (and my best friend), Meri. Together, we have five kids: Melissa, Maggie, Mitch, Matthew, and Joel.

Much of the music on Turn To Him came from my time as worship leader at CUMC (1992-2003) - attempts to express my heart and the heart of the congregation in praise and worship. Many of the songs are ones that we came to use on a regular basis in the worship services. Check out the Turn To Him page for sound bites and some background information on each song on the CD.

I recently finished a second CD titled The One I Praise, available just before the end of 2003. The One I Praise is another collection of songs I've written through the years - not as much "congregational" worship music as you'll find on "Turn to Him", but still completely focused on praising our great God. The page for The One I Praise has some info on the project, including sound clips and background info for the songs.

Worship Workshop

I have put together a basic "What is Worship?" workshop, based on over 10 years of experience leading worship, as well as a lot of study and reading and research. The standard format includes a Friday night session and most of the day on Saturday. The workshop provides a valuable foundation for churches just starting out in blended/contemporary worship, as well as a good "refresher" for more experienced groups. The teaching is solidly Bible-based, and practical.

Worship Leading

I am available to lead worship for special services and other events, as well as for "regular" worship services.

General Music

I can also be available for general music needs such as worship service accompanist, weddings, substitute choir directing, etc.
